Cyber Monday, the Monday after Thanksgiving, is one of the biggest online shopping days of the year in the United States, when retailers offer internet-only deals.
History of Cyber Monday
The term was coined in 2005 by Shop.org, part of the National Retail Federation, after retailers noticed a spike in online sales when people returned to work after the Thanksgiving weekend, where many had faster internet access.
Cyber Monday today
Most shoppers now buy on their phones, and Cyber Monday deals often run for a week or more. It closes the Thanksgiving shopping weekend and comes the day before GivingTuesday.
