How this is calculated
The reference is the site-local civil date in America/New_York. The start date is excluded and the end date is included. Dates use Eastern Time (America/New_York).
A calendar day is a date, including weekends and daylight-saving transitions. Negative signed counts indicate a date before the reference.
Calendar months are shifted directly from the reference date, with end-of-month clamping. They are not calculated by dividing days by 30.
